Through coaching, we talk to many people, we actively listen to the issues they are having in their lives without judgement and with unconditional positive regard to guide them towards how they want to change.
Often the finger is pointed to the outside and many assumptions are made so we skillfully use questions that guide our client to reflect on themselves and actually what is happening inside them.
We have triggering events that happen in our lives and those events cause an emotional response in us, behind that is a belief, now the belief may be conscious or sub conscious and we are not totally aware of it. We need to become aware of these beliefs to be able to change them and to have a different more positive perspective of things.
There are many Cognitive distortions that we have and if we are not aware of that then we can't be aware of our role in communication dynamics. If you want to know more about that become a paid member of my site to get access to workbooks, guided meditation, mentoring club and discount on coaching.
When we come to the awareness of our beliefs and consequently our responsability for ourselves to go beyond our victimdom, this is when we realise that we need to change and that if we don't, things will stay the same, this is maturity.
All of this takes effort we need to change habits, sometime from a lifetime and no, it's not our fault because the beliefs are due to our circumstances and may be trauma from childhood but when we become adults we do have a possibility to change those beliefs and let go of the hurt for the better, to live a joyful life in the moment, instead of in the past or future.
I hear alot of people saying that they are finding it hard to make the change, i think maybe with the last 2 years events alot of people have sunk into a state of apathy that they are finding it hard to move out of. We need to start making the moves and that can happen with one little step at a time to not overwhelm ourselves but keep pushing beyond a step at a time, getting comfortable with the uncertainty of life and maybe thinking of doing purposeful things to help towards a big change in society as well.
What do you think?
